Enforced Displacement Constraint dialog box
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies how the enforced displacement constraint is defined.ComponentsLets you define a constraint by specifying a magnitude for the individual degrees of freedom. Components ZX or Components XY limit the DOF to those available for axisymmetric, plane stress, or plane strain elements on the axisymmetric ZX or XY plane.Magnitude and directionLets you define the constraint by specifying the magnitude of the displacement in a single direction. Face NormalLets you define the constraint by specifying a displacement magnitude and a +/– direction that is normal to the selected geometry or element faces.Translational components – fieldLets you define the constraint as a constraint magnitude for the translational degrees of freedom only. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Constraint Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Model Objects | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the constraint to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the objects on which the constraint will be applied. ExcludedLets you remove individual entities from within your selected object. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Magnitude | |
| Displacement | Lets you define the magnitude of the enforced displacement. For more information, see Additional magnitude options. |
| Degrees of Freedom | |
| DOF1 through DOF6 | Appears when Type is set to Component or Translational components – field. Defines the magnitude of the enforced displacement for each of the DOF. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.ExpressionLets you define the enforced displacement magnitude for each DOF with a constant value or expression.FieldLets you define a varying enforced displacement magnitude. Use the Scale Factor option to apply a uniform scale factor to the magnitude of the enforced displacement at each DOF. Note: When the 2D Solid Option is set, the DOF1–DOF3 options are specific to an axisymmetric analysis on the axisymmetric plane and rotational axis.DOF1 is the radial direction.DOF2 is the normal direction.DOF3 is the axial direction. |
