Cyclic and Axisymmetric Options dialog box
The title changes depending on the types of symmetric results displayed in the post view.
Cyclic Options
Sector manipulation options are available for ANSYS and Simcenter 3D Multiphysics cyclic symmetric harmonic results.
| Stage | Appears for multi-stage cyclic symmetric results. Lets you select how to display the sectors of each stage. The following column headings are displayed:Stage — Lists the ID of the stage. No of Available Sectors — Lists the number of sectors in the stage.Sector Display — Lists the sectors displayed. Can be Primary, Selected, or All. |
|---|---|
| Sector Display | Lets you select the sector to display.PrimaryDisplays the sector defined as the primary sector. AllDisplays all the sectors as a 3D solid model. SelectedDisplays a group of individual sectors. Select the sectors from the box that appears. Use the Ctrl key to select multiple sectors. |
| Enveloped Results | Appears when Sector Display is set to Primary. Specified SectorLets you display results for a particular sector on the primary sector.Enveloped Across SectorsLets you display the results of the sectors containing the maximum, minimum, absolute maximum, absolute minimum, average, or sum of the results on the primary sector. |
| Specify Sector | Appears when Enveloped Results is set to Specified Sector.By IndexLets you select a sector based on its index number.By ValueLets you select a sector based on its value (maximum, minimum, and so on). |
| Sector Index | Appears when Enveloped Results is set to Specified Sector and Specify Sector is set to By Index.Sets the sector number to be displayed. |
| Sector Value | Appears when Enveloped Results is set to Specified Sector and Specify Sector is set to By Value.Sets the sector value to be displayed. |
| Enveloped Value | Appears when Values From is set to Enveloped Across Sectors.Specifies the values to output. Maximum specifies the maximum values for the displayed result type. Minimum specifies the minimum values for the displayed result type. Absolute Maximum specifies the maximum absolute values for the displayed result type. Absolute Minimum specifies the minimum absolute values for the displayed result type. Average specifies the average values for the displayed result type.Sum specifies the sum of the values for the displayed result type. |
Axisymmetric Options
| Axis of Rotation | Defines the axis (X-Axis or Y-Axis) about which the results rotate. The default is inferred from the results. |
|---|---|
| Display | Available when Simcenter 3D Multiphysics Fourier normal mode axisymmetric results are displayed.Original 2D ModelDisplays results on the original 2D section.3D ModelDisplays axisymmetric results as a virtual solid model. |
| Result Values | Available when Display is set to Original 2D Model. At Revolve AngleShows the results at a particular revolve angle on the original 2D section. For example, you can show the results calculated at an angle of 135 degrees. Envelope Across CircumferenceEnvelopes around all or part of the circumference of the original 2D section, to identify values such as maximum, minimum, and average. For example, you can find the peak radial displacement that occurs between 135 and 270 degrees. |
| Start Revolve Angle | Available when Display is set to 3D Model. Specifies the revolve angle at which to start displaying the 3D results. Example: Type 0 in Start Revolve Angle and 360 in End Revolve Angle to render the full 3D model. Type 0 in Start Revolve Angle and 270 in End Revolve Angle to render the axisymmetric model with a 90-degree cutaway. |
| End Revolve Angle | Available when Display is set to 3D Model. Specifies the revolve angle at which to end displaying the 3D results. |
| Number Of Sections | Available when Display is set to 3D Model. Sets the number of radial sections to display. A larger number of sections results in a finer display but requires more resources to render. |
