Post-processing (Acoustics BEM)
The Simcenter 3D Acoustics BEM solver stores the following results of the requested output:
| Result Type | Format | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Nodal Pressure | SORT1(vector results) | Computed for acoustic mesh and microphone mesh. |
| Nodal Pressure | SORT2 (function results) | Computed for acoustic mesh and microphone mesh. |
| Nodal Normal Velocity | SORT1 (vector results) | Computed for acoustic mesh. |
| Nodal Velocity | SORT1 (vector results) | Computed for microphone mesh. |
| Nodal Normal Intensity | SORT1 (vector results) | Computed for acoustic mesh. |
| Nodal Acoustic Intensity | SORT1 (vector results) | Computed for microphone mesh. |
| Nodal Pressure Panel Contribution | SORT2 (function results) | Computed for microphone mesh. |
| Acoustic Power | SORT2 (function results) | Computed for microphone mesh. |
| Power Panel Contribution | SORT2 (function results) | Computed for microphone mesh. |
| Coupling Distance | SORT1 (vector results) | Computed for structural elements/faces. |
| Coupled Elements | SORT1 (vector results) | Computed for structural elements. |
| Maximum Analysis Frequency | SORT1 (vector results)SORT2 (function results) | Computed for acoustic mesh and microphone mesh.Note: Maximum Frequency is not computed for 0D elements. |
| Free Edge | SORT1 (vector results) | Lists the nodes that are part of the free edges. |
| Junction Edges | SORT1 (vector results) | Lists the nodes that are part of the junction edges. |
Note:
The post-processing of acoustic pressure in a BEM analysis uses a multipole expansion approximation to accelerate this step of the computation. This solver method is a trade-off between accuracy and speed. By default, multipole expansion is active, but you can manually deactivate it by adding the following command line to the Sysnoise***.ssncmd** file: Environment Section SETUP MultipoleExpansion FALSE Return
Contour plotsYou can plot these results on nodes: Pressure, normal velocity, velocity, normal intensity, and acoustic intensityYou can also plot Maximum Analysis Frequency and Fluid-Structure Interface quality results. For more information, see Plot solver quality results for Acoustics BEM and Plot coupling quality results. You can plot these results in the Simulation Navigator by creating a Post-Processing Scenario or in the Post-Processing Navigator.
XY plotsYou can plot the results for nodal pressure, nodal pressure panel contribution, acoustic power, and acoustic power panel contribution. You can plot these results in the Simulation Navigator by creating a Post-Processing Scenario or in the Post-Processing Navigator. For more information, see Post processing with preconfigured views.
