Reference Temperature Set
Use the Reference Temperature Set modeling object to select mesh or geometry entities in your thermal model from which the temperature will control the thermal load magnitude. This functionality lets you apply a variable heat load on heater elements as a function of the average temperature of separate sensor elements.
In the Thermal Loads dialog box, you must:
Define the thermal load magnitude as a function of temperature using a function, field, expression, or symbolic expression.
Select the Specify Reference Temperature Set check box and specify the Reference Temperature Set modeling object to control the thermal load magnitude as a function of temperature of the reference set.
| (1) Heater elements — applied thermal load(2) Sensor elements — selection of the Reference Temperature Set modeling object |
The thermal solver computes the average temperature for the elements (2) of the reference set selection and uses this value to evaluate the thermal load magnitude (1) using the function, field, expression, or symbolic expression that you specified in the thermal load. Instead of using the temperature of each element of the thermal load selection to compute the magnitude, it uses the average temperature from the reference set.
