Replace an expression in a formula

You can replace an expression that is used in the formula of an expression with another expression. Replacing an expression in a formula is especially valuable when multiple instances of the expression must be replaced. This situation can occur with condition sequences.

1. Choose Tools tab→Utilities group→Expressions .

2. In the Expressions dialog box, in the Actions group, click Replace Expressions .

3. In the Replace Expressions dialog box, set Replacement Type to Replace Expression.

4. In the Current Expression box, type the name of the expression to be replaced.

5. In the Replacement String box, type the name of the replacement expression.

6. Click OK to close the Replace Expressions dialog box.

7. In the Expressions dialog box, in the Formula cell for one of the affected expressions, you can verify that the original expression is replaced.

8. Click OK to close the Expressions dialog box.
