Force Based Spot Weld Diameter dialog box
| Name-Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the parameter. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters. |
| Description | Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose Columns→Configure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK. |
| Categorization | |
| Category | Sets the category name for this parameter. |
| Sub-Category | Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table. |
| Properties | |
| Spot Weld Diameter | Specifies the method to use to define the spot weld diameter. From FEMComputes the spot weld diameter from the cross-section area property of the beam representing the spot weld nugget in the finite element model.DiameterLets you specify the diameter of the spot weld.FormulaComputes the spot weld diameter based on the thickness of the sheets. The diameter α is calculated as the square root of the thickness of the thinner sheet multiplied by a coefficient, which you can set. In the following example, the coefficient is set to 5.Thickness TableComputes the spot weld diameter based on the thickness of the connected shell elements. |
| Diameter | Appears when Spot Weld Diameter is set to Diameter.Sets the diameter of the spot weld. |
| **Diameter = sqrt (T_min) *** | Appears when Spot Weld Diameter is set to Formula.Sets the coefficient to use with the formula that determines the diameter of the spot weld. |
| Specify Field | Appears when Spot Weld Diameter is set to Thickness Table.Lets you select an existing field or create a formula or table field that defines the spot weld diameter based on a minimum and maximum range for the shell element thickness. |
