Contact Exclusion dialog box (Abaqus)

| Type | Controls the type of contact exclusion to create.Surface Pair Contact ExclusionIgnore contact for the specified surface pairs. Specify contact pair exclusions to avoid physically unreasonable contact interactions and improve computational performance by excluding parts of the model that are not likely to interact. Self-Contact Surface ExclusionExclude contact between the selected surface and itself.Surface to Default All-Inclusive Surface Contact ExclusionIgnore contact between the all-inclusive, automatically generated surface and the selected surface. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the simulation object is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical list of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Excluded Surface Pair Contact | |
| Appears when the type is set to Surface Pair Contact Exclusion. | |
| First Surface | Lets you select the Region that defines the first surface in the contact pair to be excluded from the contact domain. Select an existing region or click New Region to create a new region. See Working with reusable regions. |
| Second Surface | Lets you select the Region that defines the second surface in the contact pair to be excluded from the contact domain. Select an existing region or click New Region to create a new region. See Working with reusable regions. |
| Excluded Self-Contact Surface | |
| Appears when the type is set to Self-Contact Surface Exclusion. | |
| Surface | Lets you select the Region that defines the surface to be excluded from contact with itself. Select an existing region or click New Region to create a new region. See Working with reusable regions. |
| Excluded Surface | |
| Appears when the type is set to Surface to Default All-Inclusive Surface Contact Exclusion. | |
| Surface | Lets you select the Region that defines the surface to be excluded from contact with the automatically created all-inclusive surface.Select an existing region or click New Region to create a new region. See Working with reusable regions. |

| Find | Lets you search for an object by typing the full name of the object. For example, to find a group named ABC_group, you must type ABC_group into the search box.After typing the name, press Enter or click Find . If the object is found, it is selected automatically. |
| Filter by Name | Lets you filter the list by the names of the objects. This filter supports wildcards. The default wildcard of * displays all entries in the list. For example, to filter the list to display every object with a name starting with the letter "a," enter a* as the filter string. |
