Set up a streamlines display

You can click Apply at any time during the following procedure to view your current settings.

Streamlines are available when you set the color display to contour plot.

1. Create a seed set and generate streamlines.

2. In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the post view node and choose Edit Post View.

3. On the Display tab, select the Color Display check box and from its list, select Streamlines.

4. From the Velocity list, select the velocity results and from the Seeds list, select the seed set used to generate the streamlines. By default, these are the current settings in the Streamline Parameters dialog box. Click Create to create a new seed set and generate streamlines.

5. Set how to display data points:To determine how to display data points where no data exists, from the No Data list, select either Ignore or Use Value and enter a value in the box. To determine how to display data points when more than one results is stored at a given node, from the Value Sharing list, select Average, Minimum, or Maximum.

6. In the Color and Style group, specify the streamline style, such as bubbles or tubes, and their size and color.From the Style list, select a streamline style. If you selected Line from the Style list, from the Line Weight list, select the thickness of the line.If you selected Bubbles from the Style list, do the following:To control the interval between successive bubbles on all streamlines in the display, in the Time Step box, enter the interval. To control the location of bubbles on each streamline relative to other streamlines in the display, from the Synchronized list, choose one of the following:Upstream—Synchronizes bubbles at the start points.Downstream—Synchronizes bubbles at the end points.At Seed Point—Synchronizes bubbles at the seed points

7. To set a size of the streamline representation (ribbon, tube, or bubbles), in the Size box, type the size. Set it as a percentage of the model size or an absolute size in model units.

8. To control the display and appearance of element edges, set Edges to the appropriate option. Click Color to set the color of the edges.For complete instructions, see Set the display of edges in post views.

9. (Optional) On the Legend tab, specify the results range, color spectrum, and color bar scale.For complete instructions, see Edit post view legends.

10. Click OK.
