Import finite element model data

  1. With either a FEM or Simulation file active, choose FileImportSimulation.

  2. In the Import dialog box, select the solver type for the files you are creating from the Select solver list, and then click OK.

  3. In the Import Simulation dialog box, use the Input File Units to specify the unit system used in the data you are importing.

  4. Select a File Type option to identify the type of file you are importing. Depending on the solver type you selected, different options are available.Note: For Simcenter Nastran Binary files only, you can also identify the version of the binary file you are importing. If you know the version, select it from the Version list. If you do not know the version, select Auto-Detect, and the software will attempt to identify the version.

  5. In the Input File field, specify the name and location of the file you are importing..

  6. In the New FEM and Simulation dialog box, specify the name of the new FEM and Simulation files to create.

  7. Click OK.
