Initial Temperatures dialog box

Type
Type Controls how you define the initial temperature.Initial Temperatures: Applies an initial temperature value to the selected geometry or FE entities.Initial Temperatures – Spatial: Lets you define the magnitude of the initial temperature as a spatial field. With this option, you can map the field directly to a global or local coordinate system.Node ID Table Defines initial temperatures with a node ID table, which contains a list of node IDs and corresponding scale factors. For each node in the node ID table, the temperature magnitude is multiplied by the scale factor.
Destination Folder
Simulation Object Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Model Objects
Group Reference Lets you apply the initial temperatures to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the geometry or FE entities on which the initial temperatures will be applied. ExcludedLets you remove individual entities from within the selected object.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Magnitude
Temperature Lets you define the magnitude of the initial temperatures. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Specify Field Lets you select or create a field to define the initial temperature magnitude. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Distribution
Appears when Type is set to Initial Temperatures.
Method Defines how the initial temperatures are distributed over the selected objects.Constant: Applies the magnitude to the object as a constant value. Spatial: Uses a unitless field to map the initial temperatures to the nodes.A field is always mapped to global or Cartesian coordinates, even if it was defined in cylindrical or spherical coordinates, or in parametric space.
Distribution Field
Appears when Distribution is set to Spatial.
Specify Field Defines how the initial temperatures are distributed over the nodes in the selected area.
Scaling ID Table
Appears only when Type is set to Node ID Table.
Specify Field Lets you define temperature load magnitude on specific nodes in the node ID table.
Card Name Displays the name of the corresponding solver command or keyword.
