Contour Plots scenario
You can use the Contour Plots scenario to view:
Structural node (grid) contributions.
Element equivalent radiated power (element ERP).
Structural node (grid) contributions
The grid contribution plot gives you a detailed view of contributions to a total response in a specific area of the model.
In a vibro-acoustic analysis, to view structural node contributions, you must request Grid Contribution output through the Output Requests modeling object.
Note:
An alternative method for viewing structural node contributions is to use the Grid Contribution scenario (Simcenter Nastran and MSC Nastran ) scenario.
Element equivalent radiated power
The Element ERP plot shows approximately how much noise radiates from the elements of the vibrating surface. The approximation assumes plane wave radiation of the sound, and computed from the surface normal velocity values.
To view the kinetic, strain, or damping energy domains, in the Data Definition group, from the Definition list, select Scalar Spatial Results Set and in the Results group from the data set list, select Element Equivalent Radiated Power.
To view element ERP data, you must create ERP output requests, where you select frequencies and panels for ERP.
Note:
An alternative method for viewing element ERP is to use the Equivalent Radiated Power scenario scenario. This scenario also lets you plot other ERP-related data.
