Post-processing > Generating custom results using result probes
Create a result variable to use in a result probe
Make the Simulation file the work part.
In the Results tab, click Result Variables .
In the Result Variable Manager dialog box, click Create New Variable.
Enter a name for the result variable.
(Optional) From the Filter list, select results. This option filters the Result Type list so that it includes only those in the results file.
From the Result Type list, select a result type, such as stress or displacement. For more information, see Result types and results.
From the Location list, select the location for the results: Nodal, Elemental, or Element-Nodal.
From the Component list, select the data components to use for the variable. For more information, see Vector and tensor components and invariants, Shell resultants, or Beam resultants.
(Optional) Choose additional options to further specify the result:Specify the shell section, beam section, or laminate ply layer.Specify beam results.Choose the nodal combination method: nodal averaging or element results.Choose the value displayed at nodes for results in a complex format.Choose the coordinate system used to determine the magnitude and direction of vector and tensor data components.Specify that the absolute value of results should be used when calculating minimum or maximum values.Specify the acoustic environment, including spectrum scaling and weighting.
Click OK.
