Configure the template file XML editor

To use any XML editor to customize post view templates, you must first configure the XML editor to be launched from within this software.

Define the default XML editor

To define the default XML editor, set the UGII_CAE_POST_TEMPLATE_EDITOR environment variable to the path and filename of the editor’s executable file.

Manually specify an XML editor

If no default editor is defined, or to override the default editor:

  1. In the Post Processing Navigator, right-click the Templates node and choose Editor Option.

  2. If necessary, clear the Use UGII_CAE_POST_TEMPLATE_EDITOR check box to enable the Editor box.

  3. In the Editor box, enter the path and filename of the XML editor executable file, or click Browse to navigate to and select the executable file.

Specify the schema definition file

Before you use the editor to edit post view templates, add the PostTemplate.xsd schema definition file to your editor’s configuration. See your editor’s documentation for more information.

The schema file is installed with this software as %UGII_BASE_DIR%\ugstructures\post_template\PostTemplate.xsd.
