Samcef environment > Samcef composites specificities
Predefined laminate physical property (Simcenter Samcef)
In the Simcenter Samcef environment, you can define a Predefined Laminate physical property to create a layup on specific 2D elements: Mindlin and Heterosis shells, and Membrane and Shell Membrane membranes.
In this physical property:
You can define up to 25 plies with their materials, thicknesses, and orientation angles.
You can set a global Viscous or Hysteretic damping.
You can define a Reference Plane offset.
You can choose between several Failure Theory criteria.
Note:
This physical property matches the PCOMP Nastran bulk entry.
Note:
In Simcenter Samcef, this layup is equivalent to one .LAM laminate containing several plies and draped (.ETA) on a mesh with a zero shift angle:
.PLII 1....I 2 ...…..LAM I 1 PLI 1 2 ....ETA DRAPE 0 LAM 1 ANGLE 0 ...
Where do I find it?
