Condensation and evaporation
In transient analysis, condensation and evaporation at walls can be modeled when the ambient fluid is air.
The model assumes film type condensation or evaporation with the following conditions:
The water film on the surface of the walls is very thin.
The temperature of the liquid film is assumed to be the same as that of the wall.
The rate of mass transfer between condensate and the air is small.
The presence of the condensate does not affect the heat transfer coefficient of the surface.
Model condensation or evaporation by:
Defining a humidity content for your model.
Defining a thermal mesh in contact with the fluid domain.
Defining initial conditions of water content on the thermal meshes of interest.
Enabling the computation of condensation and evaporation.
Selecting water content result sets and solving a transient model.
