Meshing > Displaying meshes and element thickness

Assigning mesh colors by quality checks

To help you identify and repair problems in your model, you can generate a persistent display of problem elements. To do this, use Model Display and set the Color Basis list to Element Quality Checks.

The element quality model display options let you control colors for elements that pass or fail element shape quality checks. You can also use translucency to display elements. The Threshold Values option opens the Threshold Values dialog box, which lets you modify the values for the element shape checks.

The figure shows two element quality displays. The top image shows 2D elements, and the bottom image shows 3D elements with translucency.
