Control the design optimization output
When you create or edit a SOL 200 Design Optimization solution, you can use the solution parameters and design optimization parameters to control the frequency or level of detail in the optimization output.
| To control this output | Set this parameter | In this location |
|---|---|---|
| The frequency at which the solver writes the design variable and improved design variable output to the Nastran punch file. | DESPCH | Solution dialog box→Case Control page→Create Modeling Object next to Parameters (PARAM)→Solution Parameters dialog box |
| The frequency at which the solver performs data recovery and writes output to the .f06 file. For example, you can output the first and last designs only, the first design and every nth design, or no designs.By default, in addition to performing an analysis and optimization, the solver performs full data recovery operations at the first design cycle and upon completion of the last design cycle. | NASPRT | |
| The point at which the solver should exit the solution sequence before proceeding with full optimization. | OPTEXIT | |
| The design cycle at which the solver begins reporting discrete values. For example, if you set this value to 3, then the discrete values are reported for design cycle 3 and all subsequent design cycles. | DISBEG | Solution dialog box→Bulk Data page→Create Modeling Object next to Design Optimization Parameters→Design Optimization Parameters dialog box |
| The level of detail reported in the .f06 file about the design cycles. This parameter controls the amount of diagnostic output from the optimizer. | IPRINT | |
| Whether Simcenter Nastran automatically creates a raw data .csv file during the solve, and what information that file contains. For example, this file can contain only the design objective and design variable values, or it can contain that information plus the most critical design constraint values. | MXCRTRSP | |
| The frequency at which the solver writes design cycle output to the .f06 file. | P1 | |
| The level of design cycle output detail that the solver writes to the .f06 file. | P2 |
