Moving Frame of Reference dialog box (Flow/ESC/Multiphysics)
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies the type of moving frame of reference.Rotating Frame of ReferenceDefines a rotating frame of reference on part of the fluid domain in your model.Translating Frame of ReferenceDefines a time-varying acceleration on all fluid enclosures in the model. |
| Name | |
| Name | Sets the name for the simulation object. Description opens an editor in which you can type a description for the simulation object. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Region | |
| Group Reference | Appears when Type is set to Rotating Frame of Reference.Applies the boundary condition to the selected group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Appears when Type is set to Rotating Frame of Reference.Lets you select the polygon bodies or elements to define the rotating frame of reference region.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object. |
| Select Object | Appears when Type is set to Translating Frame of Reference.Selects automatically the complete model. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Rotation Parameters | |
| Appears when Type is set to Rotating Frame of Reference. | |
| Rotation Axis | Specifies the axis of rotation for the rotating frame of reference. Global Cyclic AnalysisAppears if you defined the cyclic symmetry cylindrical coordinate system in the FEM. Rotates the region around the Z-axis of the cyclic symmetry cylindrical coordinate system. User-DefinedLets you specify the axis of rotation. Use the Specify Vector options to specify the direction of revolution, and use the Specify Point options to specify the location of the axis. |
| Rotation Rate | Sets the angular velocity for the rotating frame of reference. |
| Translation Parameters | |
| Appears when Type is set to Translating Frame of Reference. | |
| Acceleration | Lets you select or create an acceleration field that varies with time. Use the Specify Field options to specify the acceleration field.Plot (XY) plots the field as an XY graph. Overlay(XY) overlays a plot on an existing plot. You can overlay up to 50 plots. |
| Scale Factors | Sets the factors to uniformly increase or decrease the acceleration components in the X-direction, Y-direction, and Z-direction that you set in the Ax, Ay, and Az boxes. |
