Keeping superelement creation files for recovery purposes (Simcenter Samcef)

If you want to recover results inside the superelement you create, you need to keep some intermediate files that are generated during the creation solve, but are by default deleted after the creation stage.

By default, Simcenter Samcef creates and keeps the *.sdb and *.u18 files.

Select the Keep Files for Recovery check box in the Output page of the Superelement Creation solution to ensure that the following required files are kept for recovery purposes:

  • Static superelement:Simcenter Samcef file extensionDescription*.u52Constraint modes

  • Dynamic superelement:Simcenter Samcef file extensionDescription*.u52Constraint modes*.u11Element stiffness matrices*.u12Element mass matrices*.u50Dummy element constraint matrices*.u04Element result matrices

Note:

You cannot recover a Simcenter Samcef superelement that is the result of the conversion of an external superelement (superelement of the Convert Superelement from Other Solver type).

Note:

If you clear the Keep Files for Recovery check box, you cannot recover superelement results, but the number and size of the files that are output during the creation solve are reduced.
