Cyclic symmetry simulation objects

Simulation object Description
Cyclic Symmetry You use this simulation object to define periodicity in rotation. You can define Cyclic Symmetry simulation objects of the following types:In the Manual Cyclic Symmetry type, you select a source and a target region that define the revolution reference sector. In the Automatic Cyclic Symmetry Pairing type, you define face pairs. In the Automatic Cyclic Symmetry From 3D Elements type, you select a group of 3D elements and Simcenter 3D automatically computes the revolution data: the Angle and the Number of Segments..For all the types above, you can define a Direction that will override the FEM Default Cyclic Symmetry Cylindrical CSYS.You can also define several parameters like:The Tolerances and Segment Propertiesfor the Manual Cyclic Symmetry type. For more details, see Automatically computing the number of segments for cyclic symmetry conditions (Simcenter Samcef). The Projection Parameters. You can use the Ancillary Display to visually check your simulation object. For more information, see the Samcef .ZYG command in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
Simulation object Description
Translational Periodicity You use this simulation object to define periodicity in translation. You can define Translational Periodicity simulation objects of the Surface-to-Surface Translational Periodicity or Nodes-to-Surface Translational Periodicity type. You define the Source Region and the Target Region. You define the Direction (Tx Ty Tz) of the periodicity. You can define the Projection Parameters. You can use the Ancillary Display to visually check your simulation object. For more information, see the Samcef .ZYG command in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.

Interstage definition simulation objects

Simulation object Description
Interstage Definition You use this simulation object to connect two reference sectors of a cyclic symmetry model. Each sector describes one stage of the structure. The number of sectors per stage can differ. You can define Interstage Definition simulation objects of the Surface-to-Surface Interstage Definition or Nodes-to-Surface Interstage Definition type. You define the Source Region and the Target Region. As for a Cyclic Symmetry simulation, you can define a Direction that override the FEM Default Cyclic Symmetry Cylindrical CSYS.You define several parameters like:The Projection Parameters. The Multi-Cyclic Field Approach. You use this approach in a multi-stage model where the involved reference sectors have very different properties (angles, number of segments, and so on). For more information, see the MULTIC parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation. You can use the Ancillary Display to visually check your simulation objects. For more information, see the Samcef .ISD command in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
