Creating and evaluating a function definition

Use the Function Definition command to create a specialist durability function definition that generates 2D results for specific locations of your model, in the form of XY plots of time histories and contribution bar charts. You can create as many function definitions as you want in the same specialist durability solution process, and generate results for specific elements, nodes, or strain gages of your model.

You can attach a function definition to a local definition or directly to a specialist durability solution. To change a function definition's associated analysis template, create the function definition under a local definition for which you can modify the analysis template. When a function definition is attached to a local definition, the location you specify for the function definition must be a subset of the location specified for the local definition, unless the local definition location is set to none.

You can evaluate individual function definitions using the Evaluate command. You can also evaluate all the function definitions of a specialist durability solution process at once, with or without re-solving the solution process, using the Solve command.
