Rigid Analytical Surface Contact (Simcenter Samcef)
To define a general contact of a flexible surface to a rigid surface, use the Rigid Analytical Surface Contact simulation object.
Rigid Surface Definition
In the Rigid Surface Definition dialog box, you can define any of the following rigid surface:
Sphere
Infinite Cylinder
Infinite Plane
Cylinder with Flat Ends
Cylinder with Spherical Ends
Parallelepiped with Fillets
You define the surface orientation with a local coordinate system.
You can also enable the display of the analytical surface with dummy elements for post-processing purposes. For more information, see Display of the analytical surface of a Rigid Analytical Simcenter Samcef contact in post-processing.
Master node and target region
In the Master Node dialog box, you can attach the rigid surface to any of the following:
Mesh point
Node
Point
In the Target Region (slave) group, you can define the flexible surface as a Surface Region or Edge Region.
Options
In the Contact Configuration, Topology Search, or Normal behavior groups, you can define the contact options.
When you solve or export your model, the options in the Rigid Analytical Surface Contact dialog box define a Samcef .MDS command. The contact will also generate Samcef SURF elements.
Select the Show Ancillary Display check box to display the ancillary view of the contact constraint in the graphics window. The software launches the Samcef contact conditions quick solver to compute this view.
Supported analysis solutions
The Rigid Analytical Surface Contact simulation object is available for all structural Samcef solutions.
