Nastran environment > Load case filtering > Load case filtering calculations
Create a load case filtering calculation
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click Calculations and choose Create Calculation.
In the Calculation Creation dialog box, in the Description group, click Select a method .
In the Calculation - Method Selection dialog box, in the Method Selection group, from the Name list, select the method.
(Optional) To access technical information on the method you selected, in the Description group, click Show method documentation .A browser window opens that describes the method.
Click OK.The Calculation Creation dialog box appears.
(Optional) To rename the calculation, in the Description group, in the Name box, type the new name for the calculation.
(Optional) To add a description for the calculation, in the Description group, click Show Description . In the box, type a description for the calculation.
In the Sources and Annotation group, click Add a new source .
From the Type list, select the type of geometric or FE entity from which you want to create the source for the calculation.
In the graphics window, select the geometric or FE entities. After you finish selecting entities, in the Sources and Annotation group, click Confirm source edit .The source appears in the Sources table.
(Optional) To create an annotation in the graphics window for the calculation, in the Annotation group, select the Generate annotations check box.In the Simulation Navigator, the check box next to a calculation indicates that the calculation has an annotation and that the annotation appears in the graphics window. To hide the annotation, deselect the check box.
In the Inputs group, select a load case set from the list, or click to create a new load case set.
In the Inputs group, on the Inputs tab, click Load Extraction to extract the values to use in the calculation directly from the analysis results.Depending on the type of method you select, you may need to use Load Extraction to extract a second set of values.
In the Tolerance box, type a value to define the tolerance for the calculation. To filter the load cases, the tolerance defines an acceptable proximity in a 1D or 2D space from the most extreme values of the load cases.Depending on the type of method you select, you may need to define a pair of tolerances.
Click OK to close the Calculation Creation dialog box.The name of the calculation appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Calculations node.
