Fluid-Structure Interface Modeling Parameters dialog box (Simcenter Nastran)
| Modeling Object | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets the name of the modeling object. |
| Label | Sets a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object. |
| Properties | |
| Description | Sets a description for this modeling object. Type a brief description or click to open a text editor, where you can enter a longer description. |
| Card Name | Sets the ACMODL bulk data entry name of the modeling object.See ACMODL for more information. |
| Type of Coupling (CTYPE) | Specifies the type of coupling.Two-way Coupling (STRONG) — Specifies the two-way coupling (strong coupling). The structural vibration is transferred to the fluid and the resulting acoustic pressure loads the structure.Effect of Structure on Fluid Only (WEAK) — Specifies the one-way coupling (weak coupling), which transfers the effect of structural vibration to the fluid only. It ignores the effect of the fluid pressure on the structure. |
| Search Units (SRCHUNIT) | Specifies the search unit. You can choose between Absolute (ABS) for absolute model units and Relative (REL) for relative model units based on element size. |
| Outward Normal Search Distance (NORMAL) | Specifies the outward normal search distance to detect the fluid-structure interface. |
| Inward Normal Search Distance (INTOL) | Specifies the inward normal search distance to detect the fluid-structure interface. The angular tolerance in degrees is used to determine whether a fluid free face and a structural face are overlapping. |
| Angular Tolerance (OVLPANG) | The angle value is limited to [0-90] degrees.Note: The software takes the absolute value of the overlapping angle between the normals of the structure and the fluid face; therefore this value must be between 0 and 90. |
| Coupling Method (AREAOP) | Specifies the area option. If AREAOP=0, the Recommended Simcenter Nastran coupling method is used (default). If AREAOP=1, the RBE3 method is used. Applies an area correction and removes parallel disconnected faces from the coupling. |
| Fluid Interface (FSET) | |
| Fluid Interface Entities | Specifies the type of entity to define the fluid part of the fluid-structural interface.Nodes — Specifies the fluid nodes either to include in the interface or to remove from the interface.Elements — Specifies all the fluid elements for the interface, the fluid elements to include in the interface, or the fluid elements to remove from the interface.Physical Properties — Specifies the acoustic fluid properties either to include in the interface or to remove from the interface.Nodes of Element Face — Specifies all nodes associated to a fluid element face to include in the interface, or to remove from the interface. |
| Fluid Nodes/Elements/Physical Properties for the Interface | Specifies the fluid entities to include or exclude. All — Specifies all the fluid elements for the interface.Specify Included Nodes/Elements/Physical Properties — Specifies the fluid nodes/elements/physical properties to include in the interface by directly selecting geometry or FE entity, or by referencing a group.Specify Excluded Nodes/Elements/ Physical Properties — Specifies the fluid nodes/elements/ physical properties to remove from the interface by directly selecting geometry or FE entity, or by referencing a group. |
| Structural Interface (SSET) | |
| Structural Interface Entities | Specifies the type of entity to define the structural part of the fluid-structural interface.Nodes — Specifies the structural nodes either to include in the interface or to remove from the interface.Elements — Specifies all the structural elements for the interface, the structural elements to include in the interface, or the structural elements to remove from the interface.Physical Properties — Specifies the structural properties either to include in the interface or to remove from the interface. |
