Triangle Primitive dialog box (SST)

Triangle primitive definition

Option Description
Element Type Lists the supported 2D element types.
Destination Collector
Mesh Collector Lets you select an existing collector. Click New Collector to use the Mesh Collector dialog box to create additional mesh collectors. See Mesh collectors for more information.
Definition
Point 1 \ Point 2 \ Point 3 Lets you select or create a point to define the first, second, and third points for the first triangle.Click Point Constructor to use the Point dialog box to create a new point. See Point dialog box for more information.Note: The order in which you select the points influences the order in which the software creates the elements. The elements' front side is determined by the right hand rule.
Mesh Density
Point 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 Defines the number of elements along the edges of the triangle defined by Point 1 and Point 2 and, Point 1 and Point 3. The software creates elements beginning at Point 1. It generates elements along the edge between Point 1 and Point 2. Next, the software meshes the edge between Point 2 and Point 3. Finally, it meshes the edge between Point 1 and Point 3.
Point 2 to 3 Defines the number of elements along the edge of the triangle between Point 2 and Point 3.
Top side points clockwise P1 to P3 Select the check box to reverse the direction of the surface normals of the 2D elements so that they point inward.
