Converged analysis

  • The flow analysis is converged when one of the following criterion is met:All maximum or RMS flow residuals are smaller than the target maximum residual.The flow variables, which are defined in the Flow Convergence simulation object, reach specified thresholds over a specified region in the fluid domain. This simulation object overrides the residual based convergence.

  • The thermal analysis is converged when maximum temperature change per iteration is smaller than the target maximum temperature residual.

  • The coupled analysis converges when:Both the thermal and flow solvers have converged.The maximum surface temperature change between the last and the current iteration is smaller than the target. The normalized change in convected heat between the last and the current iteration is smaller than the target change.

  • When a coupled analysis includes condensation, the analysis converges when the following additional criteria are met:The maximum water cumulation residual is smaller than the target maximum residual. The normalized change in water mass flow imbalance between the last and the current iteration is smaller than the target change.
