Create a 2D mapped mesh
Click 2D Mapped Mesh .
From the Element Type list, select the element type.
Specify the destination mesh collector:Select Automatic Mode to have the software create a new destination mesh collector. This mesh collector uses the default physical properties and inherits the material properties of the selected geometry.Note: If you did not use a midsurface to generate the 2D mesh, you must edit the mesh collector to specify a physical property table that includes thickness properties.To use an existing mesh collector, clear the Automatic Mode check box and select a collector from the Mesh Collector list.To create a new destination collector, clear the Automatic Mode check box and click New Collector .
Select the faces, existing 2D meshes, or edge densities to mesh.
Enter a size for the Global Element Size, or click Auto Element Size to have the software calculate a suggested element size.
Click Preview Mapped Mesh to preview the initial mapped mesh.
(Optional) Use the Select Face Corners options to change the definition of the corners.Note: The Select Face Corners option requires that you select four corners. If you are meshing a three sided surface, you can select one corner twice. The last corner you select is the corner where the mesh degenerates.
(Optional) Use the Number of Elements option to modify the distribution of elements on selected edges.
(Optional) Use the Mesh Options to specify any additional options to control the mesh.
Click OK or Apply to generate the mapped mesh.Note: If you want to further modify the element distribution on selected edges, click Mesh Control . You can then use the options on the Mesh Control dialog box to modify the existing edge densities or specify additional local element lengths.
