Solution Step dialog box (Abaqus), Steady-State Modal Dynamic Step Parameters page

The options in the Steady-State Modal Dynamic Step Parameters tab correspond to the Abaqus *STEADY STATE DYNAMICS keyword.

Steady-State Modal Dynamic Step Parameters
Frequency Interval Specifies how you want to define the frequency range.EigenfrequencySubdivides the frequency ranges using the eigenfrequencies.RangeUses a frequency range.SpreadDefines frequency points around eigenfrequencies found in the frequency ranges. This option corresponds to the INTERVAL SCALE parameter of the *STEADY STATE DYNAMICS keyword.
Frequency Spacing Appears when Frequency Interval is set to Eigenfrequency or Range.Specifies that either the logarithm or the linear scale be used. This option corresponds to the FREQUENCY SCALE parameter of the *STEADY STATE DYNAMICS keyword.
Single Frequency Interval Lets you select to input one frequency interval. If you clear the check box, you can enter multiple frequency intervals as a field of values.
Specify Field Lets you select or create a field of values to specify the multiple frequency intervals. Use the Specify Field options to select or create a field. For more information about fields, see Fields.
Frequency Range - Lower Limit/Frequency Range - Upper Limit Appears when the Single Frequency Interval check box is selected.Specifies the minimum and maximum frequencies of interest in cycles/time.If you specify a value of zero for the upper limit, the software assumes that results are required at only one frequency.
Number of Points Appears when the Single Frequency Interval check box is selected.Specifies the number of points in the frequency range at which the software should return results, including the end points. It is the number of points from the lower limit of the frequency range to the first eigenfrequency in the range. In each interval, it is from eigenfrequency to eigenfrequency and from the highest eigenfrequency in the range to the upper limit of the frequency range. The minimum value is 2. If you enter a value less than 2 or do not specify a value, the software uses the default value of 20 points.
Bias Appears when the Single Frequency Interval check box is selected.Specifies the software use a bias for the results points toward the ends of the intervals to obtain better resolution at the ends. Generally the ends of each interval are the eigenfrequencies where the response amplitudes vary most rapidly. This parameter is useful only if results are requested at four or more frequency points. Note: When Frequency Interval is set to Spread, Bias is set to 1.0 and cannot be edited (locked).
Frequency Scale Factor Appears when Frequency Interval is set to Eigenfrequency or Spread.Scales the frequency points, except the lower and upper limit of the frequency range, by the specified factor.
Frequency Spread Appears when Frequency Interval is set to Spread.Determines the spread as a fractional value of each eigenfrequency in the specified range. The value must be greater than 0.0 and less than 1.0. Note: When Frequency Interval is set to Spread, Bias is set to 1.0 and cannot be edited (locked).
