FFT Averaging dialog box
Performs FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) averaging of a time function.
| Qualifying Records table | |
|---|---|
| Qualifying Records | Displays the available AFU records. |
| Show All | Displays all records in the loaded AFU.If you clear this check box, the table displays only the functions available that can be processed by the conversion. |
| AFU Name column | Lists the AFU loaded to the model. |
| Record Name column | Lists the record identifier. |
| Function Type column | Lists the function type (Frequency, Time, and so on). |
| Abs Unit column | Lists the abscissa (x-axis) units. |
| Ord Unit column | Lists the ordinate (Y-axis) units. |
| Add AFU Records | Adds a function to the table.Select the function from a loaded AFU file in the XY Function Navigator and click . |
| Remove AFU Records | Removes a function from the table.Select the function in the table and click . |
| Input Parameters | |
| Averaging Type | Select the type of averaging to perform.LinearAdds the spectrums and then divides the total by the total number of spectrums. There is no additional weighting applied to any spectrum.ExponentialGenerates a continuous running average where the most recently collected spectrum has more weight on the average than older ones. Weights the most recent data using an exponential method according to the exponential setting (Light = 2, Medium = 5, Heavy = 8).Peak HoldSaves the maximum magnitude of each spectrum at each frequency without taking the average. |
| Weighted Value | Available when you select Exponential. Displays the Weighted Value.Sets the exponential method Weighted Value for successive frames in the averaging process (Light = 2, Medium = 5, Heavy = 8). |
| First Start Point | Sets the starting time point to be used for the data frames. |
| Frame Size | Sets the number of data intervals for each spectrum frame.128Uses 128 intervals.256Uses 256 intervals.512Uses 512 intervals.1024Uses 1024 intervals.2048Uses 2048 intervals.4096Uses 4096 intervals. |
| Overlap Percent | Sets the overlap percent of each data frame in the frequency domain. |
| Frames per Average | Sets the number of frames used in each average computation. |
| Output | |
| Output Setting | Specifies how the software should write the resulting data in the AFU file.AppendAppends the new function to an existing function.OverwriteOverwrites an existing function with the new function.Other AFUSelects a new AFU to save the function. |
| AFU File | Appears when Output is set to Other AFU.Sets the path and file name of the AFU file where the resulting data will be saved. You can also click Browse to select the file location. |
