Test Model Alignment dialog box

Option Description
Alignment Method Specifies the method for aligning the test model with the analysis model.PairingLets you define any number of pairs, each one containing a test model node and a node or a point in the analysis model.MoveTranslates and rotates the test model.ScaleScales the test model so it matches the analysis model.
Pair Selection
Appears when Alignment Method is set to Pairing.
Test Model Node Lets you select the test model node that you want to pair.
Work Model Selection Specifies the selection method for the work model:NodePairs your test model node with a node.PointPairs your test model node with a point.
Work Model Node Appears when Work Model Selection is set to Node.Lets you select a node in your work model.
Specify Point Appears when Work Model Selection is set to Point.Lets you select a point in your work model.
Node Label Lets you add a single nodes to the selection.Press Enter or click Select to add your entry.
Add Pair Available when you selected both members of the pair.Adds the alignment pair to the alignment pair list.
Replace Work Available when a pair is selected in the list and you also selected a work node or point.Lets you replace the work node or point of an existing pair.
Replace Test Available when a pair is selected in the list and you also selected a test node.Lets you replace the test node of an existing pair.
Alignment Pair List
Appears when Alignment Method is set to Pairing.
Alignment pair list Lists existing node pairs. The columns display the IDs for the Test Model nodes and Work Model nodes or points. When the Optimization check box is clear, the pairs in the rows define the following:The first row identifies the origin. The second row identifies the first axis. The third row identifies the second axis.
Move Up Moves the selected pair up in the alignment pair list.
Move Down Moves the selected pair down in the alignment pair list.
Delete Deletes the selected pair from the list.
Undo Resets the pair list to the previous state.
Optimization
Appears when Alignment Method is set to Pairing.
Optimization Minimizes the distance between test nodes and work model nodes or points defined in the alignment pair list when, three or more pairs are defined. When this option is cleared, the two or three points defined on the test and analysis models define one or two sets of axes, which are aligned at the origin.
Scaling
Use first axis length Appears when Alignment Method is set to Pairing and you added at least two alignment pairs to Alignment Pair List.Uses the first axis length to scale the test model.
Preview
Appears when Alignment Method is set to Pairing.
Preview Displays the alignment of the test model.
Move
Appears when Alignment Method is set to Move.
Motion Provides linear and angular reposition methods for the test model.Delta XYZTranslates the test model by delta x, y, and z values, where the X, Y, and Z directions are relative to a reference CSYS. You specify the values in the XC, YC, ZC boxes. The reference CSYS, which you specify in the Reference list, can be Absolute CSYSor WCS of the test model. No explicit origin point is required as input. This transformation is not associative.AngleRotates the test model by the angle you specify in the Angle box about the specified vector and axis point.
Specify Vector Lets you specify the axis about which to rotate the test model.
Specify Axis Point Lets you select the point on the model at which to locate the specified vector.
Scale
Appears when Alignment Method is set to Scale.
Scaling Factor Sets the value by which the software scales the test model.
Model Display
Model Visibility Specifies the model that is displayed in the graphics window: FE Model Only, Test Model Only, or Both Models Only.
Align Aligns the models using the specified alignment method. Note: You can use different methods until the test model is in the desired location and orientation. The alignment is not saved until you click OK.
Undo Returns to the previous alignment.
