Between Regions report

Use the Between Regions report type to generate thermal and flow solution data between specified regions of your model at each solution time step.

Thermal solution data

You can generate the following tables. In the Report dialog box, select the check box for the data you want.

  • The Heat Flow table lists the heat contributions of conduction, radiation, convection, and linear thermal coupling from the first region to the second region.

  • The View Factors table lists the information on view factors from the first region to the second region.

The reported data is the same as the data obtained from the Heat Maps type Report simulation object. See Heat Maps report for more information.

3D flow data

You can generate the following:

  • The Pressure Drop table that lists the static and total pressure drop between the regions. In the table, Time indicates the time step of a transient run. For a steady state solution, this column is equal to zero.

  • The spectral attenuation graphs that simulate noise reduction or acoustic wave propagation. See Spectral attenuation report for more information.

In the Report dialog box, select the check box for the data you want.

Example:

This example shows a report for a steady state solution that includes a Between Regions type Report simulation object named Between Region Report.
