The detail model

The methodology of the detail model will be explained in more detail in subsequent topics. This will be done based on an example of the T-joint, displayed in the following figure. The red dots in the figure indicate the notches in the weld that are considered to be potentially critical areas.

Detail Mesh Model According to the RxMS Approach for Which the Transition Matrix Is Created

For a given set of simple load cases, you get the influence factors in the indicated notches from the fine model. Based on the influence factors at the red points, an influence matrix from the load cases to the red points is calculated. This matrix is denoted by σk,j where k denotes the local stress of interest (the exact location and the component of the local tensor) and j denotes the load case. The influence matrix completely describes the fine seam weld model from the point of view of a seam weld fatigue analysis.
