Trim Analysis Results scenario (SOL 144)
The Trim Analysis Results post-processing scenario lets you visualize the results of Static Aeroelastic Response (SOL 144) analyses in results (.op2) files as XY plots. The scenario provides two definitions with which to plot results:
Trim Variable Values—Plots trim variable results.
Stability and Control Derivative Coefficients—Plots stability and control derivative coefficients.
Note:
Divergence analysis results are not supported in post-processing. The results are available in the .f06 file.
For more information about static aeroelastic response analyses, see Nastran static aeroelastic analysis (SOL 144) and Plot trim conditions.
Trim Variable Values definition
The Trim Variable Values definition plots trim variable results, such as angle of attack (ANGLEA) or elevator position (ELEV). You can visualize the trim variables as XY plots across one or more subcases.
Plot of ANGELA and ELEV
In the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator:
To specify the type of measure, such as angle, under the Definition node, set the Trim Variable Measure option.
To select the trim variable to plot, such as ELEV, under the Selection node, set the Trim Variable option.
Stability and Control Derivative Coefficients definition
The Stability and Control Derivative Coefficients definition plots stability and control derivative coefficients (CX, CY, CZ, CMX, CMY, CMZ). You can visualize the coefficients as XY plots across one or more subcases.
In the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator, under the Selection node, use the following options to define the coefficients to plot.

Display of unitless trim variables
If the trim variable results are unitless, their name includes the suffix (unitless). For example, the Trim Variable Measure list includes the Rate (unitless) option as shown in the figure.
Parameters
The following table shows the parameter available for defining the Trim Analysis Results post-processing scenario. It appears in the Parameters node of the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator.
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Select all subcases | When selected, displays results for all subcases. When cleared, activates the Subcase option under the Selection node in the Scenario Based Data-Visualization Navigator so you can select the subcases to display. |
