Unbalance Mass dialog box

Type
Type list Specifies the type of unbalance.Unbalance LoadUse to define the unbalance force that results from an eccentric mass.Unbalance Load TransientUse to define a variable unbalance force.Unbalance MomentUse to define the unbalance moment that results from rotor misalignment.Unbalance Moment TransientUse to define a variable unbalance moment.
Name
Name Sets the name of the unbalance.
Description Sets the description of the unbalance.
Destination Folder
Load Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the unbalance is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Node
Select Node Specifies the node where the origin of the rotor coordinate system is located.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Rotor
Rotor Lets you select the rotor region to which the unbalance is applied. Select an existing rotor region or click Create Region to create a new rotor region. To filter a long list of rotor regions, click More Options to display options for searching and filtering the rotor regions.
Unbalance Load
Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Load or Unbalance Load Transient
Mass Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Load.Lets you specify the eccentric mass.
Eccentricity Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Load.Lets you specify the eccentricity of the eccentric mass.
Phase Lets you specify the angular orientation of the eccentric mass relative to the XY-plane of the coordinate system associated with the rotor. This angle is measured from the X-axis with the positive sense defined by the right-hand rule.
Specify Field****New FieldTable Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Load TransientLets you specify the method for selecting the field that defines how the force unbalance varies with time.Select Existing Field from List Opens the Fields dialog box, where you can select a field. For more information about fields, see Fields.Formula Constructor Opens the Formula Field dialog box, where you can define a formula to construct a field. For more information, see Define a boundary condition using a formula field.Table Constructor Opens the Table Field dialog box, where you can define tabular data to construct a field. For more information, see Define a boundary condition using a table field.
Scale Factor Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Load Transient.Lets you specify a scale factor for the field.
Unbalance Moment
Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Moment or Unbalance Moment Transient
Unbalance Moment Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Moment.Lets you specify the unbalance moment.
Axial Eccentricity Angle Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Moment.Lets you specify the skew angle for the rotor.
Phase Lets you specify the angular orientation of the eccentric mass relative to the XY-plane of the coordinate system associated with the rotor. This angle is measured from the X-axis with the positive sense defined by the right-hand rule.
Specify Field Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Moment Transient.Lets you specify the method for selecting the field that defines how the moment unbalance varies with time.Select Existing Field from List Opens the Fields dialog box, where you can select a field.
Scale Factor Appears when the Type list is set to Unbalance Moment Transient.Lets you specify a scale factor for the field.
