Elastoplastic yield function criterion (Simcenter Samcef)

You can define the yield criterion elastoplastic properties in a Samcef Isotropic Structure, in a Samcef Orthotropic Structure, or in a Samcef Anistropic Structure material, on the Mechanical page of the Manage Materials dialog box.

From the Yield Function Criterion list on the Mechanical page, you can choose the yield criterion to apply:

  • You can select the von Mises criterion.Note: In this criterion, the yield stress is the Stress-Strain (H) material property law.

  • You can select the Raghava criterion. You can then define the Ratio of Compressive and Tensile Yield Stress (S) criterion.Note: In this criterion, the yield stress is the Stress-Strain (H) material property law.

  • You can select the Hill criterion.Samcef solvers use one major and two secondary tensile yield stresses, and three yield shear stresses to model the Hill criterion:The major Inital Tensile Yield Stress value (XT) is retrieved from the value of the Stress-Strain (H) law at the origin and for the given Reference Temperature. You can define the two secondary tensile yield stresses in the Inital Tensile Yield Stress (XT2) and Inital Tensile Yield Stress (XT3) fields. You can also define the three shear yield stresses in the Shear Yield Stress (RST), Shear Yield Stress (RST2), and Shear Yield Stress (RST3) fields.

For more information, see the elastoplastic behavior page in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
