Mesh Associated Data dialog box (Simcenter Samcef rigid link)

Mesh
Select Mesh Select the connection mesh for which you want to modify the mesh associated data.
Element Properties
Use As Dummy Rigid Link Select this check box to handle the rigid link as a simple Samcef dummy rigid element. For more details on the Samcef dummy elements, see the Samcef Elements book.
Coordinate System
CSYS Specifies the coordinate system in which the leg nodes options, mass moment of inertia, and mass product of inertia values are defined. For more details, see the FRM2 parameter of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
Leg Nodes Options
Nodes Rotation Option Choice Specifies how to define the leg nodes rotation option. By default, leg nodes are rigidly constrained to the core node.OPT methodChoose among pre-defined relaxing degree of freedom (DOF) combinations.User DefinedManually define the relaxing DOFs with a text stringBy ComponentsManually define the relaxing DOFs.For more details, see the CM parameter of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
Nodes Relaxing Dof Option (CM) Appears when Nodes Rotation Option is set to User Defined.Sets the relaxing DOFs.You define a list of constrained DOFs (integer 1 to 6 with no embedded blanks). The DOFs refer to the element coordinate system. For example, 123 means that all the displacements are constrained but the rotations are not.For more details, see the CM parameter of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
Nodes Rotation Option (OPT) Appears when Nodes Rotation Option Choice is set to OPT Method.Specifies pre-defined relaxing DOF combinations:**Displacements and rotations (LIA)**There is a Boolean identification between the rotations of the core node and the leg nodes.Displacements and rotationsBoth displacements and rotations are constrained. This matches a 123456 definition in the user-based method above.Lagrange multipliers are used between the rotations of the core node and the leg nodes.Displacements OnlyDisplacements are constrained but rotations are not. This matches a 123 definition in the user-based method above. For more details, see the OPT parameter of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
DOF1 through DOF6 Appears when Nodes Rotation Option Choice is set to By Components.Specifies the degrees of freedom (DOFs).DOF1 to DOF3 are for translation in the X, Y, and Z direction.DOF4 to DOF6 are for rotation in the X, Y, and Z direction.
Core Node Mass Matrix
Mass (MASS) Sets the core node mass. For more details, see the MASS parameter of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
Mass Moment of Inertia, IxxMass Moment of Inertia, IyyMass Moment of Inertia, Izz Sets the mass moment of inertia. For more details, see the MIXX, MIYY, MIZZ parameters of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
Mass Product of Inertia, IyxMass Product of Inertia, IzxMass Product of Inertia, Izy Sets the mass product of inertia. For more details, see the MIXY, MIXZ, MIYZ parameters of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
Stiffness
**Kinematic Stiffness in Translation (KTRA)**Kinematic Stiffness in Rotation (KROT) Sets the kinematic stiffnesses in translation and rotation. These properties introduce some flexibility in the rigid body. For more details, see the KTRA, KROT parameters of the Samcef RIGI element definition.
CTE
Material for CTE (MAT) Lets you define a material from which the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) will be retrieved. The CTE is used to compute thermal expansion in the rigid body. For more details, see the MAT parameters of the Samcef RIGI element definition.Note: You can only choose a linear isotropic material.Thermal expansion is computed at the leg node temperature. The thermal expansion coefficient can depend on the temperature and the thermal strain is computed like for structural elements, taking into account an initial and a reference temperature.
Element Attributes
Samcef Mesh Attribute (.MAI ATT) By default in the Samcef input file, an .MCE attribute is defined for each mesh. You can override this default with this parameter.
Macro Element
Macro Element Definition For Results Defines a macro element and requests specific results for the rigid link.
Macro Position Appears when the Macro Element Definition For Results check box is selected.Lets you define the macro position on the structure. You create a new point or select an existing point or node.
Results
Results Appears when the Macro Element Definition For Results check box is selected.Lets you select specific rigid link results to be computed by the Samcef solver.
