Appending a solver input file

You can use the Append command on the File menu to import and add (append) the contents of a solver input file to an existing FEM or Simulation file. The Import Behavior option in the Solver Deck Append dialog box controls how the software handles the data.

• For all solvers supported in Pre/Post, you can select Append from the Import Behavior list to import a solver input data file into an existing FEM or Simulation file and append the solver data to the existing data. The solver input data file that you import must be complete, valid, and run-ready.For more information, see Appending an entire solver input file to a FEM or Simulation file.

• In the Abaqus, ANSYS, and Nastran environments, you can select Append Merge from the Import Behavior list to import data from an incomplete solver data input file into an existing FEM or Simulation file and merge that data into the existing Pre/Post file. With the Merge Entities option, the solver data input file that you import does not need to be complete.For more information, see Appending data from a solver input file to a FEM or Simulation file.

Note:

The Append command is not supported for assembly FEMs.
