Define a variable heat load as a function of arbitrary element group temperature
This example shows how to apply a variable heat load on heater elements as a function of the average temperature of separate sensor elements. You will create a table that describes how the heat load varies with temperature.
Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Thermal Loads .The Thermal Loads dialog box opens.
From the Type list, select Heat Load.
In the Region group, click Select Object and select the geometry or FE entities for the thermal load. These are the heater elements.
In the Magnitude group, in the Heat Load row, click and select New Field→Table .The Table Field dialog box opens.
In the Domain group, from the Independent list, select Temperature.
In the Data Points group, enter pairs of temperature and heat flow rate values. For example, type 0 10 10 8 15 5 20 2 30 0.
Click Accept Edit to add the values to the table. You get the following table.Row IDtemperature (°C)heat flow rate (W)10102108315542025300
Click OK to close the Table Field dialog box.
In the Reference Temperature Set group, select the Specify Reference Temperature Set check box.
In the Reference Temperature Set row, click Create Modeling Object .The Reference Temperature Set dialog box opens.
Click Select Object and select the geometry or FE entities for the reference set. These are the sensor elements.
Click OK to close the Reference Temperature Set dialog box.
Click OK to close the Thermal Loads dialog box.
