Laminate Dynamics

Dynamic simulation output files

When you solve a base-driven random or sine event for an active dynamic solution, the following output files are written in the working folder.

--

Stores the input information for the dynamic simulation solver.

--_random.log and --_sine.log

Stores warning and error messages. You should always review the log file after performing a solution. To access this file, right-click the random or sine event node in the Simulation Navigator and choose Show Solution Log.

--_random.sum

Stores a summary of the random event settings and contains a table listing all output results that you requested in an easy to read format.

--_random.op2 and --_sine.op2

Stores geometry and most requested results except for margins of safety. This is the master results file and it is always written.

--_random.bun and --_sine.bun

Stores margin of safety requested results. This is the companion results file that is written for results, such as margins of safety, which cannot be written to a Nastran binary file.Note: You cannot request only margins of safety results, because the companion results file must point to a non-null parent OP2 file. Therefore, when you request margin of safety, you must request another result type that populates the random event OP2 file.

Text output results files

Store requested results in text format when you set the Text Output customer default on the SimulationPre/PostLaminate ModelingDynamic Simulation tab in the Customer Defaults dialog box. Each file contains one type of results.FileResults**--_acce.outAcceleration results--disp.outDisplacement results--velo.outVelocity results--spcf.outSingle-point constraint (SPC) force results--mpcf.outMultipoint constraint (MPC) force results--gpfe.outGrid point force results--stra.outStrain results--stre.outStress results--_elfo.outElement force results--random_msfy.outHomogeneous failure metrics results--_cfai.out**Composite laminate failure metrics results
