Model and mesh validation > Evaluating element quality
ANSYS element quality checks
In the ANSYS solver environment, use the Element Quality command to evaluate the elements in your model based on the following ANSYS criteria:
Jacobian ratio
Aspect ratio
Parallel deviation
Maximum corner angle
Warping factor
Occasionally, badly shaped elements can cause poor analytical results. Additionally, the presence of badly shaped elements in a model may lead to certain computational errors that can cause your system to abort during an ANSYS solution.
For more information, see Element Shape Testing in the ANSYS Theory Reference Guide.
