Remove element-associated data
These procedures assume the FEM is displayed.
Remove all element-associated data from a mesh
If the mesh is owned by the displayed part, you can use the Clear command to remove all element-associated data from the mesh.
In the Simulation Navigator, expand the appropriate mesh collector node.
Right-click the mesh node and choose Element Associated Data→Clear. In the graphics window, a red X appears next to each element from which the element-associated data was removed.
Remove element-associated data from a selected element
You can remove element-associated data from selected elements.
To identify the element(s) in the graphics window that contain associated data, follow the steps in List and show element-associated data for a mesh.
Choose Nodes and Elements tab→Elements group→Associated Data .
In the Element Associated Data dialog box, from the Type list, select the type of element from which to remove attributes data (for example, Shell for 2D elements).
In the graphics window, select the element(s) from which to remove element-associated data.
In the Element Associated Data dialog box, click next to the type of element-associated data to remove and select Clear from the menu that appears.Note: For shell elements, if you have both material orientation and corner node thickness defined and want to remove only one of them, select No change next to the data that you want to leave unchanged and select Clear next to the data you want to remove.
Click OK or Apply to apply the changes to the selected element(s).In the graphics window, a red X appears next to each element from which the element-associated data was removed.
