Creating a laminate physical property

The Laminate Modeler dialog box is the main interface used to create or modify your Laminate physical property.

The Solid Laminate Modeler dialog box is the main interface used to create or modify your Solid Laminate physical property. The Solid Laminate physical property is the 3D equivalent of the Laminate physical property, and is available in the Simcenter Nastran and Abaqus environments. In the ANSYS environment, the Laminate physical property is used for both 2D and 3D laminates.

The following table shows the groups in the Laminate Modeler dialog box and the Solid Laminate Modeler dialog box and the groups’ usage.

Note:

For the ply-based process, you only need to define options in the Laminate Properties and Solver Properties groups of the Laminate Modeler dialog box. The other groups are not relevant. See Creating a global layup for more information.
