General page
| Foreground Run | |
|---|---|
| Run Job in Foreground | Runs the Simcenter Samcef job run in the foreground. |
| User-Defined Text | |
| Prolog****Epilog | Specifies the User Defined Text to prepend (Prolog) or append (Epilog) to the solver input file. For more information, see Customizing a Simcenter Samcef input file with user defined text. |
| Boundary Condition Control Variables | |
| Evaluation Time | If your boundary conditions use time-dependent fields, you can define the time at which the field will be evaluated. The same time value is used for all the time-dependent fields. This time value is also used for the Mechanical Loads Summary. |
Analysis page
| Temperature | |
|---|---|
| Default Reference Temperature (.GEL TEMP) | Specifies the reference temperature used to compute thermal strains. For more information, see Reference and Initial Temperatures in Samcef (Simcenter Samcef). |
| Modes Selection | |
| Number Of Eigenvalues | Sets the number of eigenvalues to compute. Note: Rigid modes are included in this number of computed eigenvalues. For more information, see the LANCNVA parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
| Lower Frequency | Select the Lower Frequency check box to display the V1 list. The V1 specifies the lower frequency bound. For more information, see the V1 parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
| Upper Frequency | Select the Upper Frequency check box to display the V2 list. The V2 list specifies the upper frequency bound. For more information, see the V2 parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command.Note: If the range is not specified (the default), Simcenter Samcef computes the first Number Of Eigenvalues lowest frequency. If the range is specified, Simcenter Samcef computes up to Number Of Eigenvalues eigenvalues in this given range. |
| Effective Masses | |
| Effective Masses Option | Enables the effective masses computation. |
| Option | Appears when the Effective Masses Option check box is selected.Specifies the effective masses computation option. Calculation of the Effective Modal Masses computes and prints the effective modal masses.Calculation of the Effective Modal Masses and Distances to Structural Axes computes and prints the effective modal masses and their positions in the global structural coordinate system. No Calculation of the Effective Modal Masses (Default) prevents the computation of modal masses. For more information, see the MEFIMP parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command.Note: Effective modal masses values, their positions, the modal participation factors, and the modal reactions are printed only in the Simcenter Samcef .res output listing file. They are not available in post-processing.For more details about the Effective Masses Option, see the Simcenter Samcef modal analysis manual. |
| The following check boxes appear when you select the Effective Masses Option check box, and you select Calculation of the Effective Modal Masses or Calculation of the Effective Modal Masses and Distances to Structural Axes from the Option list. | |
| Calculation of the Modal Participation Factors | Computes and prints the participation factors. For more information, see the PARTIMP parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
| Calculation of the Modal Reactions | Computes and prints the modal reactions. For more information, see the REAIMP parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
| Curvature for shells and beams | |
| Compute curvature for Mindlin shells and beams (.ALGO MINO) | Specifies that the curvatures for Mindlin elements are automatically computed by the solver. For more information, see the MINO parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
| Cyclic Symmetry | |
| Activate Cyclic Symmetry | Specifies that the model contains cyclic symmetry conditions. |
| Wave Number | Appears when the Activate Cyclic Symmetry check box is selected.Specifies the wave number to compute. |
| Damping with Viscoplastic Material | |
| Frequency at which the Damping is Estimated | When Viscoplastic materials are defined in the model, you can specify the frequency at which the damping effects have to be computed. |
| Frequency (.ALGO FREQ) | Appears when you select the Frequency at which the Damping is Estimated check box.Lets you specify the frequency at which the damping effects have to be computed. |
Solver Parameters page
| Solver Type | |
|---|---|
| Solver (.SAM MF) | Specifies the solver type.SparseRecommended method.FrontalReserved for a very few specific cases that are described in the Simcenter Samcef documentation. For more information, see the MF parameter of the Samcef .SAM command. |
| Pseudo-Modal Method | |
| Use Pseudo-Modal method (.SAM NALG 5) | Specifies the pseudo-modal method. Use the pseudo-modal method to compute eigenmodes when the model contains damping conditions like viscoelastic/viscoplastic material properties or non-symmetric stiffness matrix. You can also use this method when you chain a nonlinear analysis with a modal analysis.Clearing the Use Pseudo-Modal method (.SAM NALG 5) check box in the presence of damping effects leads to linearized matrices and may produce incorrect results. For more information, see the NALG parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
| Advanced | |
| Equations reordering Method (.ALGO MMFOPT) | Appears when the Sparse solver is selected from the Solver (.SAM MF) list.Specifies the equations reordering method. AutomaticAllows Simcenter Samcef to choose the best method during the solve.METISFor more information, see Solution methods in the Simcenter Samcef documentation.MMDFor more information, see Solution methods in the Simcenter Samcef documentation. For more information, see the MMFOPT parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
| Execution Stop Stage (.SAM ISTO) | Lets you specify the stage at which you want to stop the computation of the solution.Data AnalysisStops the computation after the data analysis.Element GenerationStops the computation after the generation of the elements.Stiffness Matrix DiagonalisationStops the computation after the check of the stiffness matrix and its diagonalisation.Stiffness Matrix TriangulationStops the computation after the triangulation of the stiffness matrix and the condensation of loads.**Vibration Modes Computation.**Stops the solve after the vibration modes computation.**Modal Mass Computation.**Stops the solve after the modal mass computation.**Modal Stresses Computation.**Stops the solve after the modal stresses computation.Note: This is the default. This stage matches a complete solve.**Super Element Generation.**Stops the solve after the computation of constraint modes in a super element that was created with the Craig and Bampton component mode method. For more information, see Solution dialog box (Simcenter Samcef Superelement Creation Analysis). For more information, see the ISTO parameter of the Samcef .ALGO command. |
Output page
