Load Notch Strain Relation dialog box
| Name-Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the parameter. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters. |
| Description | Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose Columns→Configure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK. |
| Categorization | |
| Category | Sets the category name for this parameter. |
| Sub-Category | Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table. |
| Properties | |
| Load Notch Strain Curve | Specifies the method to use to determine the relationship between the applied load and the notch (local) strain.NeuberUses Neuber's rule.Seeger/BesteUses the Seeger-Beste formula.ESEDUses equivalent strain energy density (ESED).FieldLets you select an existing field or create a formula or table field that defines the relationship between the elastic stress and the plastic notch strain. For more information, see Notch analysis. |
| Use Limit Load Ratio | Appears when Load Notch Strain Curve is set to Neuber, Seeger/Beste, or ESED.Applies a limit load ratio (Kp) for plastic correction in the approximation formulas. If you clear this check box, the high stresses in the notch are not mitigated by the areas that have less stress (that is, the whole stress acts locally). Clearing this check box is the same as setting the limit load ratio to 1. |
| Limit Load Ratio | Appears when the Use Limit Load Ratio check box is selected.Sets the limit load ratio. This value must be greater than 1. |
| Specify Field | Appears when Load Notch Strain Curve is set to Field.Lets you select an existing field or create a formula or table field that defines the relationship between the applied load and the notch strain. After you have added data, you can plot the curve, as well as change the options on this dialog box and overlay a different plot. |
