View laminate physical properties for a selected element in post processing

In order to be able to view the laminate physical properties in post processing, zones must exist in the FEM file.

  1. In the Post Processing Navigator, double-click a ply results node to display the ply results in the graphics window.Ply stress results

  2. Choose Laminates tab→Validation group→View Laminate .The View Laminate dialog box opens.

  3. In the graphics window, select an element.If the nodal combination is set to average, View Laminate does not work for both elemental and nodal results.The information in the Critical Ply Information group appears even if zones are not computed.On the Ply Information tab, the sketch of the laminate appears in the Ply Sketcher group, the laminate composition appears in the Ply Layup group, and the ply results minimum and maximum values appear in the Critical Ply Information group.On the Stress Strain Plots tab, a plot of the ply strain or ply stress appears as a function of the laminate thickness.

  4. (Optional) Repeat step 3 to view information on a different element.

  5. Click Close.
