FE Model Correlation and Update > Pre-test solution process > Sensor and exciter DOF selection
Select required DOFs using nodes with normal DOFs
This example shows how to define required DOFs by selecting nodes as well as creating a new DOF set. You can use the same procedure when defining candidate or sensor DOFs.
Choose Correlation tab→Pre-Test group→Edit Required or Initial DOF for Sensors .
In the Select Required/Initial Sensor DOFs dialog box, click Create New DOF Set .
In the graphics window, select nodes whose DOF you want to include in the required DOF set.You can also select individual nodes or multiple nodes in an area of the model. To limit node selection, select an option such as Related Nodes from the Method list on the Top Border bar.
(Optional) Enter the name for the new DOF set.
In the Degrees of Freedom group, select the DOF1 , DOF2 , and DOF3 check boxes to activate the X, Y, and Z translational degrees-of-freedom, as desired.Note: Only translational DOFs are supported by pre-test solution process.
Click OK to close DOF Set dialog box.
In the Select Nodes group, click Select Node .
Select one or more nodes to include as the required sensor DOFs.The DOFs for these nodes are in addition to the DOFs you selected in steps 2 to 6.
In the Use Normal DOF table, in front of each selected node in the step 8, click check mark to define a single face normal DOF for these nodes.
Select the Preview check box.The arrows show the normal DOFs for the nodes you selected in the step 8.
Click OK.
