Superposition Event dialog box — Connections tab
Tip:
In the tab name, the number in parentheses identifies the number of active connected pairs.
| Inputs | |
|---|---|
| Inputs list | Lists the active load histories and subcases included in the selected data source files, except the ones that you selected in the Pre-stress and Static Load tabs. |
| Matching Type | |
| Matching Mode | Specifies the matching mode for the coupling of load histories and subcases.AutomaticAutomatically assigns load histories to subcases.ManualAllows you to manually assign load histories to subcases and set the activation flag, unit load, and scaling factor on each of the connected pairs in the matching results list. |
| Match by | Specifies the matching method.NameMatches the load histories and subcases by their name.IndexAvailable for automatic matching mode.Matches the load histories and subcases by their assigned index.OrderAvailable for manual matching mode.Matches the load histories and the subcases in the order that they appear in the input list. |
| Name Matching | |
| Available when the Match by option is set to Name. | |
| Case Sensitive Comparison | Recognizes uppercase and lowercase text in load names as distinct. |
| Ignore Special Characters | Ignores the special characters during name comparison. The special characters are all non-alphanumeric characters. |
| Match using | Specifies the process for name matching. The subcases that do not match with any load history are ignored in the results.Complete SubstringMatches the load histories with subcases so that one of them is a substring of the other. Before comparison, the following characters are replaced by spaces and all subsequent spaces collapse to only one space: "_", "/", "", "~", "-".FieldMatches the load histories with subcases based on fields identified from the names using delimiters. The names of the load histories and the subcases are divided into fields using the delimiters that you set in the Delimiter boxes. The values that you define in the Field boxes are then used to match the load histories with subcases names.PatternsMatches the load histories with subcases through a pattern matching on their names. You can decide which of the inputs (e.g. load histories) to use to find a pattern that you enter in the in the Find box. For the corresponding matching in the other inputs (e.g. subcases), you can also enter a pattern in the Match with box that matches the names of that input. For more information on how to define the syntax for the pattern matching, character classes and the usage of matched groups, refer to [102].Substring of Specified LengthMatches the load histories with subcases names using the length of the substring that you specify in the Substring Minimum Length and Substring Maximum Length boxes as the minimum and the maximum length of the matching string. |
| Matching Results | |
| Add Matching | Available when Matching Mode is set to Manual.Displays the list of coupled subcases and load histories in the matching result list. When you click Add Matching , the matching pairs are appended of the matching results list. |
| Matching results list | Lists the matching results. Each row of the list displays a load history with its connected subcase. When the Matching Mode is set to manual, you can:Activate or deactivate a connected pair by right-clicking the corresponding row and choosing Yes or No.Set the unit load and scaling factor of a connected pair by double-clicking the unit load and scale values and modifying them.Note: If you modify a unit load in the FE Results tab, it overwrites the one that you set here. |
| After Input Change Re-match Load Histories and Subcases by | Available when Matching Mode is set to Manual.Specifies the criterion for re-matching the load histories and subcases when the input source is replaced. You can replace the load histories and the finite element results in the Data Source Details groups of the Load Histories and FE Results tabs.NameRe-matches the load histories and subcases by name, in the same order as the current matching result. The software searches the load history and subcase names of each matching result and pairs them again using the updated input. It ignores any missing match.IndexRe-matches the load histories and subcases by index, in the same order as the current matching result. The software searches the index of the load histories and subcases of each matching result and pairs them again using the updated input. If the number of inputs is less than the specified index for load histories or subcases, the matching will be ignored.Note: After the update, the software re-assigns the unit load that you defined for each re-matched pair. The software records the unit load according to the subcase's index or name, depending on the option you selected above. |
| Remove Matching | Removes the entries you selected from the matching results list. |
