Abaqus Command Keywords
Scratch Directory Determines the scratch directory path for the specified solution. By default, this is the path defined by UGII_TMP_DIR. To overwrite the default, simply specify an alternative path. This setting is saved with the .sim file.
Task Entry Lets you specify which phases of an analysis that Abaqus should perform.analysisPerforms a complete Abaqus analysis or a restart of an Abaqus analysis.datacheckChecks only the data. With this option, Abaqus does not perform a complete analysis, but it saves all files necessary to perform the analysis.parametercheckChecks only the input parameters. With this option, Abaqus does not check the data or perform the analysis.syntaxcheckChecks the syntax of the input file only. With this option, Abaqus does not perform a complete analysis. Additionally, Abaqus only saves the data (.dat) and output database (.odb) files.
Memory Management Parameters
Memory Allocation Options Defines the pre-memory value for an Abaqus solve which specifies the maximum amount of memory that can be used by the Abaqus analysis input file processor. For more information, seeExecution Procedures in the Abaqus Analysis User’s Guide.DefaultLets Abaqus automatically detect the physical memory on the machine and allocate a percentage of this available memory. The default percentages are platform specific, but they typically represent a large portion of the available physical memory. For details on the default memory allocation settings, refer to the SIMULIA Online Support System, which is accessible from the My Support page at www.simulia.com.**Physical Memory**Lets you allocate the amount of memory as a percentage of the machine’s physical memory.Memory in MBLets you allocate the amount of memory in megabytes.Memory in GBLets you allocate the amount of memory in gigabytes.
High Performance Computing
Parallel Processing Lets you specify whether to use parallel processing to solve an Abaqus solution across multiple processors on a single machine.
Number of Processors (cpus) If you select Parallel Processing, lets you specify the number of processors to use.
Parallelization Method Specifies the parallelization method to use.DefaultUses the default parallelization method. On Windows platforms, if MPI is installed, MPI is the default method. On non-Windows platforms, thread-based parallelization is the default method.MPILets you select the MPI-based parallelization method.ThreadsLets you select the thread-based parallelization method.
Output Precision
Nodal Field Output Precision Controls whether the software writes the nodal field output to the output database file (*odb) in Single or Double precision.
Solver Executable
Use environment variable UGII_ABAQUS Uses the value of the UGII_ABAQUS variable to set the location of the solver's executable. By default, this variable is defined in the ugii_env.dat file included with the installation. You can also use the Abaqus Solver Location options in the customer defaults to specify the default location of the Abaqus executable. To override the UGII_ABAQUS variable and manually specify an executable, clear this check box and enter a path to the executable in the User Specified box.The software infers and stores the path to the file that you specify relative to the Simulation file. If the location of the file changes, the software uses the stored relative path information to try to locate the file. For more information, see Relative path support for external files.
