Solver Parameters dialog box (ANSYS)
| High Performance Computing | |
|---|---|
| Used Shared-Memory Parallel | Lets you specify that you want to use shared-memory processing to solve an ANSYS solution across multiple processors on a single machine. |
| Number of Processors (-np) | Lets you specify the number of processors to use. |
| Use GPU Accelerator (-acc nvidia) | Controls whether the software uses a graphics processing unit to increase computing capacity.Note: This option is only supported if you are running ANSYS 13 or higher. |
| Memory Options (megabytes) | |
| Memory for database (-db) | Lets you specify the amount of memory available to the database during the solve in megabytes. |
| User specified dynamic memory (-m) | Lets you manually specify the size of the initial block of memory used by ANSYS during the solve. |
| Dynamic memory | Lets you specify the size of the initial block of memory in megabytes. For example, a Dynamic memory setting of 1800 with a Memory for database (-db) setting of 300 instructs ANSYS to first allocate a 300 MB contiguous block of memory for the database and then to allocate a 1500 MB contiguous block of scratch memory (1800 - 300 = 1500). |
| Solver ExecutableNote: The required ANSYS executable must include the version number (for example, ansys192.exe). | |
| Use environment variable UGII_ANSYS | Select this check box to use the value of the UGII_ANSYS variable to set the location of the solver's executable. By default, this variable is defined in the ugii_env.dat file included with the installation. You can also use the ANSYS Solver Location options in the customer defaults to specify the default location of the ANSYS executable. To override the UGII_ANSYS variable and manually specify an executable, clear this check box and enter a path to the executable in the User Specified box. |
| User Specified | Lets you specify the path to the location of the ANSYS executable file. |
| Solver Version | |
| Use environment variable UGII_ANSYS_VERSION | Select this check box to use the value of the UGII_ANSYS_VERSION variable to set the version number for the solver's executable. By default, this variable is defined in the ugii_env.dat file included with the installation. This variable needs to be consistent with the version pointed to by the UGII_ANSYS variable. You can also use the ANSYS Solver Version options in the customer defaults to specify the default version of the ANSYS executable. To override the UGII_ANSYS_VERSION variable and manually specify an executable, clear this check box and enter the version number in the User Specified box. |
| User Specified | Lets you specify the path to the location of the ANSYS executable file. The software infers and stores the path to the file that you specify relative to the Simulation file. If the location of the file changes, the software uses the stored relative path information to try to locate the file. For more information, see Relative path support for external files. |
| Additional Options | |
| Additional Options | Lets you specify ANSYS keywords to define additional options for the solve. |
| Solver Command Window | |
| Solver Command Window | Controls the visibility of a window that displays solver command syntax on Windows platforms during the solve.HiddenHides the display of the solver syntax window.ShownDisplays the solver syntax window. |
