Define enforced acceleration using magnitude and direction (Abaqus)

The Magnitude and Direction type lets you define an enforced acceleration constraint on a set of nodes.

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Constraint Type list→Enforced Acceleration .

  2. In the Enforced Acceleration Constraint dialog box, from the Type list, select Magnitude and Direction.

  3. In the Model Objects group, click Select Object and select the nodes to apply the constraint to.

  4. In the Direction group, select a vector that specifies the direction of the acceleration. The software creates a displacement coordinate system if the vector does not match the work coordinate system Z direction. For more information, see Vector dialog box.

  5. In the Magnitudes group, in the Acceleration box, enter acceleration as constant values or expressions. For more information, see Expressions.

  6. Click OK.The software applies the constraint to the model.
